Morning Skincare Routine
Share
Healthy-looking skin is acheived by being consistent. Your morning routine should be about hydrating and protecting.
1. Start with a gentle cleanse
Use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water to freshen up your skin. Massage lightly, rinse and pat dry with a soft towel. Your skin should feel comfortable, not tight or stripped.
2. Add a hydrating toner
A hydrating toner allows for the skincare you apply in the next steps to absorb into your skin properly. Gently pat it onto clean and wet skin.
3. Choose a serum or ampoule for your skin’s needs
Apply your serum immediately after the toner. You don’t need a collection of serums so start with one suited to your needs, such as a hydrating formula for dry skin. Wait 30-60 seconds for your skin to absorb the serum.
4. Follow with moisturiser
Use a pea-sized amount for your face, gently pat or massage it in using upward and outward motions, and don't forget to cover your neck, ears, and decolletage.
5. Finish with sunscreen
Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 or SPF 50+ sunscreen as the final step before makeup. Remember your neck and ears, and reapply the sunscreen every 2 hours if you are spending the day outdoors.
New to skincare? Keep it simple
A cleanser, moisturiser and morning sunscreen are a good starting point. Optional steps can come later, once you know how your skin responds to the basics.
Patch test new products according to their instructions and introduce them one at a time. If a product causes burning, persistent redness or irritation, stop using it. For ongoing skin concerns, speak with a dermatologist or qualified healthcare professional.
